Our Tasting Notes
Nose: So many notes, so little time hereโฆ funky fruit, big frangipani, model glue, coffee beans and cola. Honey, vanilla beans and fresh cut cane sweetness โ thereโs just so much going on here.
Palate: Extremely, satisfyingly thick and oily on the palate. Itโs all sweetness here with no pepper spice to speak of at all. Strawberry and cream lollies come to mind immediately. Bubble-gum and creaming soda or is it coke ice cream spiders? Definitely not an overripe or funky sweetness โ itโs very much a candy forward palate in this one.
Finish: Finishes as it starts โ delightfully complex with lots of flavours buzzing around, vying for your attention. Cola, chocolate, sweet black coffee and liquorice all-sorts just to start with.
As youโd imagine from a blend of such magnitude (8 different components!), this is a massively complex rum. Whatโs fantastic is the influences from the major component distilleries really stand out โ thereโs Caribbean funk, Mauritian floral herbaciousness , Beenleigh and Privateer liquorice all sorts – and every sip brings a new flavour or memory to your mind.
